Loaded up some 40gr Vmax and ran a couple down the tube this morning.
40gr Vmax
27.3gr H4895
CCI 400 Small Rifle Primer
2.315 COL
Seems to like it a little closer to the lands. With the magazine limitations of the CZ I can only get a COL of 2.320 to fit. The max COL in the rifle is 2.350. Gonna always have some jump in this rifle. It seemed to like though. If I had a better bench and rest it would be better. This was off sand bags and rear rest and the bench is a Workmate bench.
5 shot group at 100 yards.
Little range time this morning.

Looks pretty good. Which model of the 527 are you shooting. I'm thinking about getting the 527 American. Nice little rifle

statelinerut--That's a nice looking rig you have there. It looks like you have a good start on working up a nice load for your rifle. Your load of 27.3 gr. of H4895 is a little under the maximum, but when I saw you were using the CCI 400 primers, I thought I needed so suggest that you switch to a primer with a thicker cup than those 400s have. When you start gettin up near the maximum load on these small caliber rifles like the .204 Ruger and even the .17 Remington, it is easy to blow a primer with the thin cupped primers. I'd suggest you switch to the CCI 450, Remington 7½, or CCI BR-4 (if you can find the BR-4s).

Re: Little range time this morning.
Thanks silverfox. I appreciate the info. I have noticed most 204 shooters are using other than the 400's. I will stop by the local gun shop and see if they have the 450's or the BR-4's. I know he has the 450's. Thanks again for the info. I greatly appreciate it.
