IMR 4064 Loads?

Post by 204fun »

Well I got about all the reloading equipment I needed for Christmas (except primers) and am almost ready for reloading. The powder that I got was supposed to be IMR 4895 but 4064 was accidentally bought instead. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a load for this powder, I'll be using 40 grain V-Max's. Also a recomended primer? Primer choice may be determined by local availability but if i do have a choice is their a preferred brand/size?

Hopefully soon I can post some nice groups with my own handloads.
Thanx ,Cody

Top of the page is .204 load data. IMR and Sierra both list loads. Although I have never used it.

Looking at the IMR-4064 load data, it would appear that you should be quite safe with the 4064. The max load IMR lists is a compressed load, at about 3000-psi less than SAMMI the max, so there is no way you can accidentally double charge a case.
