Has anyone got a starting point and a max charge for RL-10X 35 berger using a CCI 400 primer?? Thankyou for the imput Ulen MN.
P.S the reason I am using CCI 400 primers is they are left over from messing around with my muzzle loader tried them instead of a 204 to see if there was a difference so I have around 150 of them if for some reason y'all dont think I should use them let me know please and the reason why.. Ulen MN

Re: RL-10X Question
Those CCI 400 primers are a bit on the thin side. Read the article at the link below, which can also be found on our home page. I've loaded a lot of RE-10X and can tell you that it develops velocity rather quickly. I think working up loads of RE-10X or H4895 with the thinner primers might be a good way to experience primer piercing. I'd stick with the 450's, BR-4's or Rem 7 1/2's.

Don't get me wrong, RE-10X is one of my favorite powders for the 204 Ruger. Plenty of velocity and accuracy to boot. Definately worth a try. I would just rather be on the safe side with primer choices.
Here is some loading info I used for the 35 Bergers with RE-10X:
Starting load
35 Berger, CCI BR4 primer, 23.6 gr. RE-10X, WW case - Average velocity 3694
This is where I stopped
35 Berger, CCI BR4 primer, 25.8 gr. RE-10X, WW case - Average Velocity 4118 (warning! Hot Load)
Most accurate load
35 Berger, CCI BR4 primer, 25.4 gr. RE-10X, WW case - Average Velocity 4053
