+1 on the Thanks.

Question. When you say a factory rifle cannot be re barreled are you referring to another (same manufacturer) factory barrel or do you mean an aftermarket (custom) tube.

The powers that be in the BR world recently began drawing up rules for a factory class bench rest program in order to lure new shooters to the sport.
One of the rules was no replacement of barrels except by the original manufacturer.
Sorry folks, I will not be sending a Savage rifle back to Savage to get the barrel replaced when I can do it much cheaper in minutes at home ;)
This rule was put in place exactly for that reason. It seems some believe Savage owners would go out and buy 10 or 20 barrels to find the best.

I would have been interested in attending an official BR match and gettin my butt whooped but this particular rule counts me out.

I thought I had gathered up all the monkey wrenches (wishful thinking on my part).

As the classes stand I have locked out some potential shooters.
Factory Custom Rifle class will include Remington 40X, Coopers, Kimber... The action and barrel
must be of the same manufacturer
. Any scope any ammo allowed.

I would like to change to. (comments?)
Factory Custom Rifle class will include Remington 40X, Coopers, Kimber... To include any factory
action mated to any after market barrel. Any scope any ammo allowed.

For the question on Savage re-barrel...

My intention was for "a production rifle that has not been re-barreled" to mean re-barreled with an after market barrel. So if your new tubes are Savage "production" tubes have a nut!

I agree with your further thoughts on including aftermarket barrels in Factory Custom. My Rem VLS with a Shilen wouldn't really fare well against a Stolle or Panda or somesuch in a Custom class shootout.

Come to think of it, with 3000+ rounds shot hot and dirty at PDs, that barrel doesn't have much of a chance anymore in any class. But, so what. It will be fun.

Great job on sorting it all out. Thanks for giving a whole bunch of guys a reason to go to the range.

Since the internet has made it feel like we are all neighbors I put a map together so we could see where we are all shooting from.

If you want removed from the map let me know. The flags only point to your town/city, no street references.

If I have pooched your location let me know.

Please have a look and make sure I have you shooting in the correct class.

If you have red next to your name I need an address to mail targets to.

I'm looking to get the targets out the 31st of this month.

1. Targets are in for printing (will be done Friday the 27th of July).

2. Address labels printed and attached to the envelopes.

3. Return address labels printed and stuck on the return envelopes.

Unless something goes horribly wrong with printing I will have the targets in the mail on Monday the 30th of July and you should start seeing your targets @ the 3rd of August.

I will accept requests for targets up until the 14th of September so there is still plenty of time to get in on this.

I hope you are getting your ammo and trigger fingers ready!
