The targets are rolling in.

So far everyone has killed their prairie dogs, I'm also seeing a few virgin tie breaker bulls.

My apologies to WW, I ran out of time and didn't get my targets shot. I did go by the Sheriffs Dept range on the 30th, but they had a recruit class shooting, and I didn't want to distract them. "He who hesitates is lost", one of my favorite sayings, now applies to me!

I got all my weekend outside chores done today and it's suppose to rain tomorrow so I'll get the targets measured. I'll try and have the results posted tomorrow evening.

Correction, Humility arrived after the second pull of the trigger for me.
And so far its enjoying its stay

Took out my new handlapped custom 243 Win bull barrel yesterday to run in the barrel.
I've never performed a break in on a custom tube before but figured I'd go all out on this one.
 More copper after one shot than any factory Savage tube I've ever seen.
Scrubbed copper all day with no signs of abating. Why me?

Best group of the day was the first ten clean and shoot at 100yds.
Moved out to 200 and began shooting five. Got some 6 and 7 inch groups.
If this tube was lapped it was lapped backwards

Jo- do you use wind flags? A typical 6mm bullet experiencing a 10 mph cross wind will deflect 3 1/2" Just a thought.

Congratulations to the shooter of target #20. That rifle is shooting. The load is in tune and the shooter sure knows how to hold to put them all in a hole from the looks of the sighter target. I can't wait for the next one.

I'm #6 at 100 with my Predator and #7 at 200 with my LRPV and 39 BK's. I'm not sure what happened but the wheels sure fell off after the first group at 200  Congrats to all who participated :wtg:

Yep, might as well fess up. I'm #11 @ 200.
Gee Mike no one told me I need to put the wheels on. :duh:  Maybe next time I'll bring a set and even tighten all the lugs.

Nope, no wind flags on my range. By looking at poor ol #11 limping off to his hole you might think I need some.
Can't really blame it on the conditions so much as the reloader not doing his part.
As for the 243 tube there was no wind that day. I wasn't expecting awesome results using Speer 100gn Grand Slams but the copper fouling was horrific. I even went back in the house and loaded one Sierra bullet just to make sure it wasn't the bullets fault.

Using my own deranged logic on bore conditions I tried again today with a lighter bullet(87 V-Max) and slower powder (N-160)
Still coppers like a pig but I think the extra carbon will allow it to shoot.
My intention has been from the beginning to use WS2 coated bullets after break in with this tube.
I was just hoping it wouldn't be mandatory. I've never tried WS2 in a barrel that didn't seriously need it.
Twas looking to further my education
Maybe I'm being somewhat unrealistic but a custom hand lapped tube shouldn't foul like that.

Thank you all for participating! And congrats to all shooters (even the winners).

July 1st will be the target mail out date for the summer shoot. It will be just like last years except we will be dropping the “Factory Ammo” class.

Equipment list will be done soon.

For Sale: Factory Ammo!!!!! Seriously, these postal shoots are fun! You can put me down for the summer shoot; as the saying goes "If at first you don't succeed, :wall: :wall: try, try, again!"

Thanks again, Kevin, for all the work you have put into these postal shoots. You are a man of integrity, as I know you can't be bribed. :) :)
