Shooting my target/s (a thought by wrzwaldo).


Since I have an unlimited supply of these targets I'll be shooting mine with an impartial observer. This got me thinking ROAD TRIP!

I see there are a couple other folks Dizzy (at about 7 hours) and Verminator2 at about 10 hours away. You folks wanna hookup and do some shooting? Let me know when it would be a good time for a road trip and I'll see if I can get it in my schedule.

Since I am TOO new to shoot in the PM, here's a picture of a group @ 100 yards with my Factory Remington XR-100 with Hornady factory ammo (32 grain). Only thing I changed is the trigger. It now wears a Rifle Basix 2 ounce. I have not yet bedded the action. It has a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 Side Focus in Leupold rings.

This group was shot off of the hood of my truck using a Caldwell 'Rock' mechanical rest and rear bag.

The way she shoots, I don't know if I WANT to bed the action!

Would you consider the Remington XR-100 Factory Custom, or what?

Nope, the XR-100 is a production rifle, just like that bad a$$ Savage LRPV!

Mine shoots so good I'm scared to take it out of the stock. If it's shooting like that why bed it?

What class is a Savage 12FV with a Choate stock fall in?

If it's a factory stock then factory/factory ammo and factory/any ammo.


But I have to ask. If bedding factory actions is allowed in the factory production classes is a change of stocks any real advantage over just bedding alone?

Man there are allot of grey area's.

Would me working on the barrel channel in the stock on my LRPV be a modification? It was "supposed" to come free floated but wasn't.

Maybe a hard nose approach should be taken. ANY modifications would be considered custom. So no trigger jobs, no floating, no bedding, no lapping, etc. Let factory be just that, the way it came from the factory. The only exception i can see if your rifle had a trigger that came from the factory that was adjustable.

Man I sure wish squirting a little 5 minute epoxy under the action would turn my Sav 12 into a custom action/tube Best five bucks I would ever spend

204sniper-- I believe you are eligible to enter. As it stands right now you only have to be a Member here. The post I made about having xx number of posts was merely an idea to protect our Members from someone registering just to shoot in the contest. Altho I seriously anybody here will back down from a shooting challenge!! Ask WrzWaldo if you qualify since I may have missed something.

OK walleyeman you are now on the "Shooters Map".

Looks to me like you can shoot!

Rifles chambered in 204 Ruger only.

Been a member of the 204um on or before 11 July 2007.

You may shoot 1 rifle per class.

Nice job on the larger map. You need to put me a 1/8 inch more North. Just across the Erie Barge Canal. You got me in the CITY . I live in a different town that my address shows.We have no post office here in sunny Pendleton .Thanks for putting this all together .
