Quick question on the target. Will there be only one sent and you have one chance at your best group or can copies be made? I have a 204 that is capable but some times the operator is not.

Sorry, but there will only be one target sent to each registered weapon. Copies will not be allowed. I suggest you bring extra targets to practice on and then fire for record when everything is a go. Don't drink a lot of coffee the morning you shoot.

One by one roll your factory ammo across a flat surface while watching the very tip of the bullet. If it wobbles, set it aside. Find five that don't wobble and have the same weight. That's about the bet you can do with factory ammo.

Spend a weekend before you shoot for score to find the particular ammo your rifle likes (groups) the best.

Just got the targets and mailing envelopes back today. I'm not going to compete, conflict of interest, but I will take a target and shoot it for reference. Here's what it will look like.

Image

I had them printed out on heavy paper so they would hold up better. They won't be fuzzy like the Photobucket image, I promise.

Registration starts on May 1, 2015. I will also start mailing on that same day. I will mail up till late June for new registering members to get a chance to participate.

Today, official registration for the 2015 Ruger 204um Five Shot Challenge begins. We already have members from around the globe signing up to take the challenge. I will be going to the post office today to mail the first batch of targets and get a post office box for the return targets. I'll post the return address as soon as possible.

As long as I can mail you a 12X15.5 inch envelope with the target, you can enter. All I need is a Private Message with your name, mailing address, rifle information and class. You may join the 204 Ruger Forum and register up until the return deadline. Remember this is an event for registered members shooting the 204 Ruger cartridge. Your targets MUST be returned with a June 15th postmark to qualify for ranking. Winners will be announced on July 1, 2015.

Good Luck

Please, register by Private Message. I have had to erase a couple of posts with members personal information. Registering by PM insures that your personal information stays PRIVATE.

Thanks, for the privilege of serving the forum.

I mailed out a lot of targets today. They should be arriving within a few days. I have another batch to mail tomorrow. I have to go back to the printer to have more targets made. After that I will mail them out also. This shoot is bigger than the last one we had back in '08. The return address for the targets is:

Skipper
15201 Mason Road
PMB 346
Cypress, TX 77433

Remember the cut-off date is June 15th.

There seems to be a shortage of AR rifles entered into the challenge. The solution seems to progress along one of two paths. Either enough AR rifles get entered into the shoot to make it worth the effort or we will need to combine the class with another one. We have plenty of Production Class rifles entered. There are enough rifles entered into the Modified Production Class and the Custom Class to make it competitive, but the AR Class suffers from lack of participation.

Will YOU take the challenge? If you haven't registered, why not give it a try? Some lucky member is going to have all the bragging rights for an entire year. He or she will wear the title of Grand Champion until next year's competition. His or hers posts will suddenly take on a new persona, like talking to a resident expert. This person could EASILY BE YOU! All you have to do is go out and have a little fun with your 204 Ruger. Don't let this challenge pass you by.
