How many are interested in a 2022 Postal Shoot? What changes would you like to see in the competition?? Looking for input.

I would be interested in another one for 2022. How about moving it out to the 200 yrd mark ? That would put a little more of a challenge into it. :D
And with the same official target, you used in 2021 Skipper.

I don't have access to a 200 yard range. Maybe a 100 and a 200? If not, I can always enjoy looking at your bug hole groups on line

A lot of shooters are posting how they shot this or that, critters/varmints, at extended ranges. So why could they not set up a target at 200 yrds and shoot it, for score ?

IN oreagon where there is a lot of pubic land you probably can. Kansas land is 96% privatly owned. Go for it Bill K! I will enjoy watching your success.

I should add that I am about to do a major upgrade to my 100 yard range. Pouring a 8x8 concrete slab, refurbing my dead uncles nice bench, ect. I cut down 3 trees that I thought needed to go, I am dealing with the mess from that and removing the stumps. I also maintain the range with a brush hog and a lawn mower. Soon I will buy a Kawasaki Mule so I can get up the steep hill to access it better.

I guess you could say I am heavily invested in my own 100 yard range. Like I said, do what works for you. I will be posting my own 100 yard groups here all summer- .223, .22-250, .243 are just a few I am going to be working on. I pretty much have my .204 Ruger working good but will undoubtly shoot it some as well.

Everybody runs their own race in life. Mine is going to be the 100 yard race, at least in the near future.

To answer your question- shooting from a bench on a rest is going to give me the best groups.

I have a portable/swivel bench which I use out in the pivots, a lot of others do also. However a really solid bench at a gun range/club is better, for sure. Probably best that Skipper just keep it at 100 yrds, so more will or can enter, if they feel uncomfortable at 200 yrds.
It was just my thought to add spice to the shoot. :D

I would be in for 2022…. Could do either 100 or 200 yards.

To do a 200yd. bench shoot here in the Appalachians I would have to head into town and setup on main st.

Sounds like, so far, that most could not shoot a 200 yrd target. Which should make my suggestion null and void, so more will and can enter the shoot. :)

I am definitely up for a five shot challenge this year! There will NOT be any procrastination on my part and God willing, no more health issues! I too like the 100 yard shoot, allowing a larger number of people to participate. As soon as the temperatures up here in the frozen north stabilize above freezing and the snow melts off the range we'll be out making sure the rat rifle is happy!
Shoot straight & often.

Bill you are a good man. I will be sure to send in a target. Looking forward to using my new bench to do it.

One question- do we use .204 or whatever we want?

Historically, we have held the competition for members shooting the .204 Ruger only. I realize that the center of a hole is the center regardless of caliber, but some calibers may have a slight advantage.
