OT: Nosler (Norma) 221FB Brass!

Post by Rick in Oregon »

Much to my surprise, Nosler will be loading their new 'Varmageddon' 221FB ammunition with their own headstamp. This of course now means that we have Norma parent brass for all of our pet calibers based on the FB case, and not have to rely only on R-P offerings. Nosler will offer unprimed brass besides their Nosler Custom loaded ammunition.

I just got this from Mike Harris at Nosler.........talk about GOOD NEWS!

Lapua....are you listening? :D

And here I am "patting myself on the back" for finding a good deal on Rem Fireball brass..........and buying 500 rounds of it!!!!!!!!!! Timing is everything. Just received an order from Cabelas of .221 brass at what I thought was a good price, and free shipping over $150. Guess I'll just have to shoot more. Rick, you're doing a great job of helping me spend my retirement money.

That is good news. I will be picking up my new Cooper in 20VT tomorrow. I will be doing a lot of reloading for break-in, sighting in and working up my loads. Although I have prepped all my R-P brass, its always good to hear of new sources for good quality brass!
Thanks for your posting Rick!

Rick. Does Nosler get all their brass from and/or made by Norma? I sure want to try the new bullets, as it appears most on site do. Thank you for giving us a heads up. Bill K :D

Affirmative Bill....any Nosler headstamp is/was produced in Sweden by Norma. Nice drilled vs. punched flasholes, uniform primer pockets, on-center flash holes, uniform body and neck thickness/dimensions. Only Lapua is in the same catagory.

Wow sweet! Wait, I just bought 200 221 rem cases... O well story of my life. I gave up on my dreams of a 20VT repeater, decided I wanted a cooper instead :D . I have a leupold vx3 6.5-20 lr on order, 5 lbs of RL-7, a full set of redding dies and I've been watching gunbroker and gunsamerica for weeks for the right rifle. Oh the anticipation!!! At least I know I'll have good brass in the future, thanks Rick!
