This cartridge has been around for a little while now, what kind of accurate barrel life should be expected out of a rifle chamberd in 204 Ruger?

hey mate,

Depends how well you clean your barrel, how many rounds you fire while the barrel is hot etc etc....

I would imagine that If you looked after your barrel and had a good cleaning regime varminting accuracy would be retained until about 2000-2500 rounds.

I would imagine the 204 barrel life would be somewhere in between 223 and 22-250.

Having said that Ive shot about 1200-1500 rounds down my tikka and it still holds 1/2-3/4'' 5 shot groups @ 100 and 1" 5 shot groups @ 200yds.

hope this helps.

My oldest .204 Ruger is a Savage 12VLP and it has 2,702 rounds down the barrel and is still shooting 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards using bare bullets.
