First trip to the range with my 204.

Post by callaojoe »

Finally got a chance to go try out some of my handloads for my new Ruger KM77VT in .204 Ruger.

I really like the trigger on this gun. Ya, there are maybe some better ones out there, but I kinda like this one.... :D

My best 40 gr Vmax group. 27.5 gr of Varget, Rem brass and cci 400 primers.

BTW... These are all 5 shot groups at 100 yds, fired of my cheapo rest and bag. Prolly a gusting 10-15 MPH wind coming from my 4 O'clock position.

On to the Sierra BlitzKings. These are 32 grain bullets, they didn't have any 39's but I plan to try them. I was a bit surprised to see how the AA2230 did with these.

Still got a lot of playing around to do with it. Was a bit windy at the range, but all in all I was happy with how she shot. It sure is nice to shoot 100 rds, and not have a bit of a pain in the shoulder.

looks like you will be able to find yourself a good load the way that looks
It's hard to detect good luck, It looks so much like something you've worked hard for and earned.

They seem to be grouping where you have something to work with. Too bad they missed all those coins.

And it's a good thing they missed your keys!!

Those are good looking groups. So far I think the best groups that 7Mag and I have had came from 35gr. Bergers. Not that the rest of our loads were bad, all sub moa.
I think it was me....or the wind.

Good looking groups and nice gun. You might try some Benchmark and see how it works. I'm using it in both my .204's with 32 and 39 gr blitzkings. 10X was definitely showing promise too.

Man you don't log in here in awhile and you come back and find new riffraff hanging around....

I know this guy and not only is he a good guy who loves rifles as much as most of us do but he also owns one really nice Cooper in a big deer cartridge. Trying to get him to buy a couple more of them in some rat calibers so he can really understand the obsession with them......

Glad to see ya on here CJ. Welcome.

Ouch, getting called riff-raff from you really hurts..... :eew:

Planning to try some benchmark and RL-10x yet. Need to slide on over to Graf's to pick some up.

But, so far I am quite happy with my rifle. Next "rat killer" will probably be a M93 Savage 17 HMR.
