Went out shootin' this evening since I sent my scope to Leupold to have the reticle changed to a (.0020) target dot. So I loaded up some 35gr bergers to also try. Shot my normal 40gr v-max to get me back in business with good success. So I tried the bergers and they did pretty good. (26.4)gr of benchmark shot the best. I usually get .250 to .375 moa groups from the 40's. The 35's with this load got .375 to .500 groups.
Just wanted to know what you guys might load with these bullets & powder. Any other info would be great as well. Thanx guys!

what kind of gun are you shooting? I'm looking for load info for an AR with either 40grain vmax or 39 grain Sierra.

I'm shootin' a factory rem 700 lvsf. I had a terrible time @ first due to my screw up. Waiting to put a custom barrel on that receiver. I have a good freind that works for douglas barrel. Hate to pull the barrel off a good shootin' gun. It does shoot pretty good for a factory barrel gun. That's why I'm a little worried bout shootin' the 35s. As they say, don't mess if it aint broke!

Yeah I to would be afraid to change my load with a group .375 or less. I'd say that's pretty much a tack driver. I enjoy shooting paper, but I'm a hunter and if I can shoot a half inch group or less then I'm pretty happy. After the coyotes kill zone at 300+ yards is still fairly large. LOL I'm still working at finding the perfect group for my gun. Struggling a little but I think the 1:12 twist is slow for my 40gr vmax. I'm going to try the 39SBK and see If I can get a better group.

I am also a huge hunter. I love to hunt ground hogs! But I REALLY enjoy shooting paper. Some day I will have a bench gun.
Back to it. I have no idea why my gun shoots the 40's. Seems that most people have a problem shootin' the 40's in a 1-12 twist gun. My gun does not shoot the 32's @ all. I bought the gun used, so I have no idea how the barrel was broke in or any info about the gun. It just shoots the 40's.

well stick to it lol. Since I shoot coyotes I dont want to use a lighter bullet. I hope the 39s will work. I thought 1:12 was the way to go when I ordered the gun, but I should have gone with the 1:10 or 1:11. I'm a huge fan of Vmax bullets and wanted to shoot them. I have been shooting them, but my groups are just over an inch. I have shot quite a few coyotes with them, and they've done well. I am just ready for more accuracy and am playing around with different powders, seating depth, etc. I hope by next week that I'll have time to really try out the 39s. I need to buy a few more different powders and see if they do any better. I've been using H4895 and I dabbled a lil in the W748. I guess I'll give R10x, benchmark, or H8208 XBR (I think that's what its called) and see what happens.
