If a scope/rifle is off .5" to the right or left at 100 yards, how much will it be off at 200,300, 400 and 500. Some have told me that at it will be .5 @100, 1"@200, 1.5@300, 2"@400 and 2.5"@500.

To me it seems like the numbers will double at each distance from the last. .5"@100, 1"@200,2"@300,4"@400, 8"@500.

Which is it? :chin:

ssm,

Look at this in minute of angle.
1 in at 100 yards is basically moa. 2 inch at 200 yards is moa. 3 at 300, 4 at 400, 5 at 500 are all 1 moa.

If your scope is off 1/2 inch at 100, that is 1/2 minute of angle. So you would be 1inch at 200, 1 1/2 inch at 300, 2 at 400, 2 1/2 at 500.

Clear as mud?
