Orion: If that baby shoots half as good as she looks, there will be ALOT of splattered PD's across the landscape very soon. That rifle turned out sweeeeet! Nice execution, great assemblage of high quality components all around.
By the way, you asked:, for the 39SBK, my
comparator overall length is 2.0065" to touch the lands in that chamber.
Don't forget the camera on your trip, I know you and your new toy are going to bond quite well.
Great looking rig!

Beautiful rifle made from outstanding components. I'm looking forward to a range report soon! Out of curiosity, what's her weight with the scope on?

Orion2see, Fabulous looking rifle. I'll bet a fall from your wallet would have been fatal before you paid for it, but not anymore

Very nice gun, What is the twist rate?

It is a 1-12 twist; I chose that over the only other Shilen choice, 1-9. I hope it shoots the 39 gr SBK's. The NightForce is probably overkill, but this is my first and only full custom rifle, and I wanted to be exactly like I wanted. I have not weighed it yet but will and let you know. It is a tad heavy, but again, that is what I wanted, a solid bench-style guns to nail PD's!

That sounds/looks a looks like a real winner, congrats.
I have dreams of a custom rifle to but the economy going sour has prevented me from even replacing the 17HMR I gave to my brother in law as a wedding gift. But if I get some cash I would like to go the route you went, all premium components.
What was your overall cost if you don't mind me asking??

Not at all - it was about $2500 before I added the scope.

on the custom rifle. Like RIO said there should be a lot of splat with that rifle!! If your Shilen is a "true" 12 twist you should be good to go. Both my Hart barrels are 1-12 twist and shoot 39 and 40 grain bullets with out a hitch.
Keep us posted with pics of kills and targets.
She sure looks like a sweet heart, thats for sharing the pics!

That's a beautiful rifle but I gotta tell ya. You need a pair of them to really shoot dogs. One cools and cleans while the other goes to work. Great looking gun and it will shoot very well. I'm certain of that.

We had a great time in WY - my son and I shot over 1600 rounds in 2.5 days. I shot some video but very few stills. It was hard to stay with the camera with so much good PD shooting going on. I will try and get a few pics posted. The new rifle (and backup Cooper .204) shot well. Longest confirmed kill with the new rifle was 630 yards with lots of misses at the long distances as well. My new BR Pivot arrived 3 days after I got back - there is always NEXT year!

Congratulations on the successful trip and maiden voyage of your new shooter! What part of Wyoming did you go to? Some friends and I have had fun in the Eastern part of the state, near the SD border.
