I just got a used cz varmint and the scope i wanted to use wouldn't work. has anyone tried the bolt conversion fron calhoon (sp?)? $40 wouldn't be a big hit on the wallet.

This must be the one you're talking about. I couldn't post a direct link but you can find it on this site. I handled a 527 today and was told that scope mounting and bolt clearance was a non issue. Didn't look like it to me at the time. Anyhow here it is. Dave

It all depends on the scope and of cours the size of the lenses. I have a Bushnell 3200 Elite ( 3X9-40mm) on my CZ and there is no issues with some room to spare.

Same with my 527 and a Bushnell 3200, no problem at all. Gary

I also shoot the cz 527 varminter and use the elite 3200 with no issues.
