I just got a Remington VLS in .204 and I was wondering if any one could give me there opinion on what factory loads shoot best out of this gun. I have shot a couple of boxes of 40 gr. V-Max's out of it and it doesn't do bad at 100 yds but at 200 it starts getting all over the place. Would like to eventually get into reloads but for now factory is going to have to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

You might try Federal's Premium load with the 39gr. Sierra Blitz King bullet (Federal P204A). It works well in my Savage 11FNS and has accounted for a lot of chucks over the past few years. You'll have to try different factory fodder to see which works best in your particular rifle. LOL and good shooting.

Are you looking for just target accuracy or a hunting bullet and if so for what species. The reason I say this is because in my 204 ( although it is a CZ) the most accurate factory rounds are the Hornady 32 gr Vmax but the best coyote round is the Hornady 45 gr SP.

Note: The 32's will group under an inch @ 100 yards ( in that 0.5-0.8 range) and the 45's will group only slightly larger.

Another vote for the Hornaday 32 gr VMax. I've had the best results out of all of the rounds I've shot thru my Remington 700 VLSS. Gary

My VSSF II loves the Federal V-Shok with the 39gr BK's. I had a hard time getting handloads to beat it.

I am going to be hunting, and I will be mostly hunting fox and ground hog's. I picked up a couple boxes of the 32 gr. V-max this past weekend and they seemed to work pretty good for me. Got under 1/2 inch groups at 100 yd, some in the same hole and did about 1 inch group at 200 yd. Going next weekend to tennesse to try out my luck on some yote's and some kitty's..
