Cleaning a Chrome lined barrel

Hey guys. I was on another forum and came across a post that said that cleaning a chrome lined barrel with a brass brush could harm the barrel. I find this VERY hard to believe. I would think that hard chrome would be much stronger than a brass brush. What do you guys think? Nylon brush only or are both okay? Thanks -Dan

I read somewhere once a long time ago that a chrome lined barrel should not be cleaned until after ?250-500 rds? Something to do with burnishing the chrome.

No help on your question but maybe something else to confuse you further.

Dan I have two rifles with chrome barrels and I clean them with a brass brush with no problems at all. The only thing you have to look out for is that the brass will come off in the barrel like the copper on your bullets. So I always use a nylon after the brass. But it never has effected the preformance of the rifles. Ride Up!!! :)
