Savage Preditor or Modle 25 sporter ?

Just wondering if anybody has found a Savage modle 25 in 204 yet ? If so, is it a varminter or a sporter ? How does it shoot ? I read where the Accu-Trigger only goes down to 2 1/2 pounds on the 25, but the modle 12 and 10 Preditor Hunter - adjust down to 1 1/2 pounds. Maybe the modle 25 is'nt designed for the same great level of accuracy ? Just thinking on either buying a Preditor in 204 now, or waiting until I find a modle 25 sporter later on.
Anybody like to chime in on this ?

I'll chime in
Buy the predator. Why?
It will be one of Savages 12 series actions. This means in the future you can buy aftermarket custom barrels and screw them on yourself.
With the model 25 this cannot be done.

A few Model 25s have made it out of the factory. Some have been sent back, too.........
Buy the 10/12 and forget about the retooled rimfire action that Savage is calling a M25, you'll thank us later.

Very good points touched on so far.
You will regret not having the barrel swapping flexibility of the 10/12 series. You'll have one HECK of a time finding a gunsmith to change out a barrel on the rimfire type actions.

I have a model 25 and she's a shooter
. I was looking at the predator but I did not like the stock. I really don't think that that I'll wear out the barrel and have to change it out. I've hit woodchucks out to 370 yds with mine. I'm very pleased with mine, it shoots 32gr blitzkings into a dime hole at 100yds.

You can buy the different trigger springs fom Sharp Sooter Supply for $5.00. Takes 5 minuts to change it out.

If I'm not mistaken, the barrel on a model 25 screws on to the action and is pinned from the underside instead of locked in place with a nut like on the entire 110 series. The bolt, unlike rimfire bolt actions, has three locking lugs and the bolt head floats like the 110 series which aids in accuracy potential. I wouldn't be afraid of trying one. I wish the 25 was available in 17 Rem. Fireball, since I have three 204's.
