Post by cracker »

Heres the results from July 4ths day at the range. All info is from on target. The load was 35 grain Berger’s, 27.8 grains of h4895 cci mag primer, hornady brass, col of 2.245,
Gun was CZ 527 varminter topped with a 4x16 Bushnell 3200 scope sitting 1.5 inches from bore center. Barrel is 24 inches. the numbers on the targets like the 21-25 are the number of shots out of a clean barrel.

100-yard target. .706 inches moa .674 poi +1.879

150 yard target 1.046 inches moa .666 POI +2.431 The moa of 666 is a little devilish

200 yrd target 1.446 inches moa .690 POI +2.004

250 yrd target 2.372 inches moa .906 POI +.393

heres my questions
#1 hows my shooting be honest. (my friends all lie and say its great lol)
#2 would you lower your POI at 100 to get lower POI at all these distances? I will only be shooting coyotes and I figure the kill zone to be 4 to 5 inches this would give me a point blank range of 0 to 300 yards and in Wisconsin you very rarely get a shot over 300

I really like this test of your load and rifle. It is very informative. If your primary purpose is to shoot coyotes then your goal should be to eliminate shots that would miss a coyote. Looks like you are in pretty good shape to get old wiley.

My personal preference would be a slightly lower zero to eliminate the 2 1/2 inch high at 150-200 yards. To me it is so easy to shoot over at that range. It is more instinctive to hold over a little at 300 instead of holding low at 175. Just a 2 cent opinion offered for free.

You might split the difference between 100 and 250 yards. Make them the same amount over and under at those distances. That way you could hold dead on anywhere in between. Nice shooting, by the way.
