Finally finished - my new custom 204 - UPDATED

After three months waiting for my barrel to be chambered and fit to my action, I just finished putting it all together.
This is the rifle that I mentioned earlier that would have the barrel cut with a 204 Ruger Match reamer from Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool & Gauge with a "no turn" .230" neck and 11 twist to best stabilize the 39 and 40 grainers. Details:
Pac-Nor Stainless Super Match 11 twist 3-groove barrel w/11 degree target crown @ 24" long (Remington Varmint Contour - .875" muzzle)
Blueprinted stainless Remington M700 Short Action w/Hi-Score single shot follower
Jewell HVR trigger w/safety
H-S Precision Stock w/full aluminum bedding block
Leupold VX-III 6.5-20X Long Range Scope w/Varmint Hunter Reticle and M1 Elevation Turret (30mm tube & 40mm Ovjective)
Sinclair Offset 30mm Scope Level
Now I need to get out to my range to break-in the barrel, sight in, and take it out next week with my Sako M75V 204R for a four day Skippy affair. I'll break it in with Remington factory 40 grainers, then use my Sako loads for the field, and work up a dedicated load and bed it with Accraglass when time permits.
Here she is in her virgin state; test fired by Pac-Nor only:
Looks like it just might work out....
The last thing Skippy will ever see......
Next time you see her, it will be under "204 Varmint Hunting". I predict Skippy will
really hate this rifle......

Looks great Rick! I'm not real fond of black or dark colored stocks over on the eastern plains of Colorado in mid-July, but your rifle looks good.
Looking forward to the range report.

Rick.......nice, very nice and good luck with her. I sure she is in very good hands and you will teacher her well....................Look out Skippy!!
Let us know how the 11 twist works with the 40grn tips.
My 1-12 Harts are working very good with the 40's.
Good luck and thanks for the update. Can't have tooooo many 204's now can we!
Later

scooter: Our season is done by July, so black in the sun is not an issue for me. Our ground rats are about done by the end of June; our last blast is our Annual Rat Rodeo down in N. Kalif in mid-June, then it's clean the rifles, work on them, or put them to bed until fall/predators. Thanks for the encouraging words though.
Ray P: Thanks for the kind words as always. I'll give her a through workout, you can be sure.
acloco: You funny guy!!!

Nice lookin' stick, Rick! Three months ain't bad, it could have been a lot worse. If you need someone to break it in, in a PD patch, I'm going out mid-June

WP: Nick indeed! But you did make me go back up to that pic to check it out.......
Glenn: Heck there buddy, by mid-June she'll be all broke in, will be down in N. Kalifornia for our Annual Rat Rodeo, and by then probably have at least 400 or 500 rounds down range....she'll be all broken in just fine....but thanks for the offer......yeah, right, what are friends for?

Oh man, sorry that it turned out that way. I can see why you are going to Kalifornia, to try to palm it off on some uneducated Kalifornian. OK I'll trade it straight across for a Crossman pellet gun and a card table to shoot it off of.
Great looking rat rifle. Be sure to take lots of pictures of it in action.

Sidewinder, sorry man but you're too late, Rick has already agreed to trade my factory 700 for that sorry thrown together bang stick. I figured it's the least I could do for a good friend!
