204 Bullets
204 Bullets
Dose anyone make a round for the 204 that dose not fragment? Im more looking for a factory round but i plan on starting to reload as soon as i can get all the stuff so even just who makes the bullet would be a great help. Thanks.

Re: 204 Bullets
The Hornady 45 grain soft point is the only one that comes to mind. Maybe followed by the 40 grain Berger. Both are questionable bullets for a 1 in 12 twist barrel.

Re: 204 Bullets
Retaks, my 12fv shoots the 40gr berger bullets better the the 35gr any time. But thats one thing about reloading, you wont know tell you try them. Good luck and let us know how thing's go ok?
Re: 204 Bullets
I had planned on trying the 40gr Berger when i start reloading. I get great groups with a Remington 32gr Accutip factory ammo but i would like to get a bullet that dosnt fragment.

Re: 204 Bullets
That 45 gr. Hornady load is as close as you're going to come, as it stands now, and most rifles are a little fussy about whether it will shoot well, or not. My rifles will shoot them, but not particularly well (1.25") Not terrible, but not longrange sniping quality, either. Plenty good enough for called-in coyotes, for example, but not much count for prairie dogs.

Re: 204 Bullets
I use my 204 mostly for killing paper and hunting Crows but i do take it when i go Coyote hunting and sometimes Fox hunting . I only really get shot to 200 yards on a normal day. Sometimes i can find a stretch where i can shoot 400 yards.
