I'm impressed. For all the grief I give my Rem luvin buddy he'd flip if I brought one of those home.
I like my black guns in black but I'm not fussy either. If it shoots I don't care how butt ugly a gun might be.
Not implying I find these particular guns ugly just a general observation on all firearms.

Rem states an MSRP of $999. Is it safe to assume actual street price would be lower like a Savage?
Roughly $799 out the door?

Greetings, I am new here, just found the site after learning of the Remington gun.

Since Remington and Bushmaster are both owned by the same parent company (along with Chrysler and a bunch of other companies) - And since the email they sent out says that they teamed up with the "industry leader in AR platform rifles." Should we assume that these guns will actually be built by Bushmaster? Or is Remington going to build them themselves?

I think it's safe to say that Remington will be buying Bushmaster rifles conveniently marked with the Remington name Remington really doesn't have anyone in-house with lots of experience building the HDR platform, so it's logical to assume that rather than spend $$$$ to train them, just farm the work out to the guys who're already doing their thing building them. Since they all get their paychecks from the same paymaster, it's just good sense.

I DO have to question the need for another company getting knee deep into the already crowded, prone-to-legislate-against market. Just this week, Ole Joe Biden has tried to resurrect the AWB...................

I won't buy one untill it says Dodge R/T and it must be painted orange.

My guess is that simply because of their corporate relationship BM will build the Remington guns.

In reality, if you use good parts to begin with, a 10 year old can easily learn in one day how to to assemble an AR-15 that will shoot better than anyone can hold it. That was the magic part of the original Stoner design that became apparent after the civilian market for them grew. As for any special tooling needed, Ace Hardware can fix you right up in about 10 minutes for less than $20 if needed. If the 10 year old works on his own bicycle, he's probably already well equipped.

We see so much phony publicity hype on various boards about the resident genius who builds the best AR in the world that we get lost in the forest and can't see the trees. His secret is he uses good quality parts and he knows its hard to screw up an AR build if you use a little bit of diligence during assembly....and he's not going to disclose his big secret if he can make money building them. And the Stoner system is so good/simple that the diligence falls way behind parts quality as the key to an accurate, well-built AR.

As for another company selling one, I'm glad to see someone step forward. Not wanting to see more companies in the AR market because they're not "political correct" runs kinda' along the same lines as to what Zumbo's thoughts were.

And, again, in reality, the latest version of the AWB has been rolling around the halls of congress since before the Dems took back majority control. They just know its not an easy/popular task to roll it out any longer, but they will keep it handy if we hunters and shooters can appear to grow weak enough to not vigorously protest its contents in mass.....and all the Zumbo's included.

And as for not using the "more politically correct" HDR term here...it just seems more natural for me to call one an AR. That's what they were called when I bought my first one - and then soon built my first one - way back in the 1970's. "AR"'s still good enough for me...
