Walther barrels rule

Just put a new Lothar Walther 204 ruger barrel on my savage 110 and couldn't be happier. I went with the 1x10 twist to see if it could shoot the 40 grain Hornadys. I tried them with 26.5 grains of Ramshot TAC and the first three shot group went under a quarter inch. I fired three more groups without letting it cool down and two went right at 1/3 inch and the last just over 1/2 inch. I cleaned it that night and not one bit of copper showed up. These barrels are well worth the money.

I've only shot it fifteen times and these barrels are so smooth a break in period isn't needed.

Do they come chambered and ready to screw on? Where do you get these barrels?

They come prechambered and ready to screw on. I ordered mine directly from Lothar Walther and had it in a week. It cost just under $300 delivered to my door.

You can also try ferret50.com. Although a week from LW cannot be beat 8)

Pikeon Do you have any "distance to the lands" measurements for us. Wondering how much freebore LW uses on thier reamers.

I know they have shorter throats than my stock savage 204 barrel. I couldn't get to the lands on the savage barrel. I was was just touching the lands on my walther barrel at 2.380" and tried 2.350" for my 40 grain vmax loads. They shot so nice I haven't messed with the seating depth.
