well we're back, there is a few less prairie dogs in Dumas, Texas this mornin! now here's a question My rifle, my boys rifles are sighted in to be dead on at 200yds, we we're shooting pds at 250 to 400yds directly into the wind, the winds averaged about 10 to 15mph and we had to hold low to hit a prairie dog! does the wind make a bullet rise?

Yes, it can.

medic: Correct; a headwind usually will tend to make the bullet rise, and a tail wind can and usually does cause the bullet to strike a bit low.

If you study military sniping methods, and the Full Value, Half Value, Tail, and Head Winds, you'll see a wealth of info for varmint shooters that shoot "in the real world".
