Welcome to the site. Great bunch of folks here. Looks like you have a sweet rifle. What is the intended target after getting it sighted in? Try the Sierra 39 Blitzking if you reload. It seems to be a favorite round with several people here, including me.

It will see duty on the range, hunting yotes and gophers and whatever else may present a safe shot.

Nice shooting iron, wish more guns had the adjustable cheek piece, think it is a "gotta have" on any <MOA gun

Remington XR 100 in 204

Hello all,
Very new to this forum and new to the Ruger 204 cal, recent 22-250 convert. I recently bought a Remington XR 100 in 204 with a 26"barrel in 1&12 twist. I love the gun and have had some excellent performance from this gun on factory Hornady v-max ammo. (As low as .25” but on average under .5 with three shot groups) Recently this performance degraded and I think I found the problem. When I bought the gun here in Canada last year it was very hard to find ammo and brass for the 204, so I bought a case of 32grain hornady v-max. Once this lot no. was used up I bought other boxes and have found huge discrepancies in accuracy. Hence the reason for this request, now I’m looking for a good hand load.
I hand load for my 257 weatherby mag but it took a long time to find the right load and hope not to go down this road again. Wondering if anyone has a XR100 and has a great load to share with a fellow hunter? I know some of you out there have had more experience with this cal and I hope you can share some of your experience. I’ve tried to matched the original factory ammo’s performance but had very little success in getting under 1’.. Should I try some slower burning powders because of the 26” barrel?
All winter my brother-in-law has been giving me a hard time about the large grapefruit holes in the coyotes with the .257 and wants me on the 204 soon. Now that the old model 70 22-250 sold I want to turn the 204 into my coyote gun.
Any suggestions??
