G'day
This is my first post and was just chasin a bit of info from you guys if thats ok. I have just had an old heavy barreled Tikka 222 rebarrelled to 204 and loaded up some 39grn Blitz Kings with 28.5grns win748 and seated the bullets about the same depth as hornady 40grn factory load for running the barrel in. This load shoots 1/2 inch but I am looking to improve on this. What i would like to know is when trying to find a load that your rifle likes most do you play around with seating deapth first or powder charge. And can any one tell me what load they use for reloader 10x with 39grn Bks.
Cheers.

AP, Seating depth is the last thing I play with when working on a load. I actually gave my best load a little more jump and improved it a bit.
No help here on 10x. Someone else will chime in.

I've been getting great results with 24.8 grains of 10x with both 39&40 grain bullets. approach any max. load carefully to make sure your rifle doesn't generate too much pressure. Silverfox and others have successfully used more than 25 grains of 10x. Check the favorite loads in the reloading forum for many examples.

Thanks Whistlpig and Hotshot. I've just done a search on 10x and got heaps of info it looks like every second bloke with a 204 uses this powder.

10X or 2206H(H4895, for us Yanks), one or the other seem to work well with the 39s, so much so, it's not worth looking for better stuff.
