30gr. ntx

Post by gkempf »

Hello everybody, I recently got some hornady 30gr. ntx factory rounds and shot through my howa 1500. Shot at 100 and wasnt even on paper, strange cause I had zeroed at 100 with 32gr handloads. So I shot at a 25 yard target with the 30gr. ntx and they were coming apart in the air, target looked like a shotgun shot it. Anybody else have this issue?

definitely don't sound good.. possibly they are going too fast and cant handle the speed.. I shoot suppressors on all my guns and I think that could
be a bad combination . its strange a factory round would do that for sure.. you may want to contact hornady and see what they say.. they have excellent customer service

As far as I know, Hornady does not make a 30 gr. NTX. All I see is a 24 gr. Is that the one you are referring to? Factory rounds shouldn't do anything like that. I would check and see if everything is in spec before shooting more.
