CZ 527 Barrel swap

I have a CZ 527 .204 with a sporter barrel. This rifle shoots lights out for about 10 rds, then opens up considerably. Shooting ground squirrels all day, I have to let it cool and use another gun between cool downs. Has anyone swapped out their sporter barrel for a heavier one? I checked the CZ site and they do not show a heavier barrel available. Has anyone had good results with any other after market barrels for this gun?
Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me. After 8-10 fairly fast rounds, it would become a shotgun.CZ USA replaced it two times. All three with the sporter barrel shot like that. I finally had the barrel replaced with a pac-nor 3 groove 11 twist varmint contour by Bob Green and chambered for 20 vt .It now shoots 39 grain bk's in the 2's and 32 grain in the 3-4's. Wish I had done it sooner. I now use it as a switch barrel. vt in the spring for squirrels ,switch back to 204 in the fall for coyotes. Best of both worlds

Nice. Sounds like what I need to do as well. What kind waiting period for Pac-nor to send you a new pipe?
Thanks.

X-Caliber barrels also makes a 20 caliber 3 groove 11 twist barrel now. The price is excellent at around $200 or so and their turnaround time is typically 6 weeks or less. Give them a call if you get a second, they are super nice people and they will treat you good. www.x-caliber.net

When you guys say sporter barrel are talking about the american or the varmint model, which has a heavier barrel. Not a true bull barrel just heavier

I have the varmint barrel and it sounds like you get more good shots than me. Mine starts to drift on the third shot. Im probably gonna bed it. Took the action out the other day to investigate. It has some kind of chalky epoxy crap in the recoil lug well. Boogers all over, touching the bottom of the chamber
