Trigger Spring for Browning X Bolt

Post by toasty »

Anybody got dimensions (or a lighter than factory spring) for the trigger spring for the browning X bolt? Trigger pull is a little too heavy, cost my son a nice deer last week. I know Ernie the gunsmith used to sell them, I am interested in the specs on the spring he sold.

Not sure about Ernie's springs, but Midway offers replacement trigger spring kits for the X-Bolt:

There is also complete trigger replacements if that's an option.

Thanks for the link, but that is for the A bolt, doesn't work with the X Bolt. Anybody have any information about the X Bolt Trigger?

If you want to know what Ernie has, call him. Very nice gent, have several of his springs.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

I contacted him and his reply "I'm done with the Xbolt trigger, gun, and trigger spring" and wouldn't give me any information. If he has the spec on the spring, I don't see why it would hurt to give me the information, but he wouldn't. I ordered a factory spring, I'll measure it and just buy a couple springs to test out and find one that works.

Sounds like he might have a trust issue with the whole setup & doesn't want to have any liability should he recommend something other than what is in that rifle. Just my thoughts.
