Spring Sickness not just Spring Fever

Post by SecretCode »

So the last few weeks haven't been to great in our house, between Stomach flu and Infulenza A or a combination of the two for everyone all of us.

So with the kids and I feeling considerably better than my wife we let momma sleep in and let her Tamiflu meds start working hard. I loaded them up and ran back to the farm to pick up some things stored for the winter.

I'd been collecting some death row prisoners and decided that it was about time to put them out of there misery by firing squad. Little did I know I had only brought half a box of 32 gr vmax's for the 204, so only the worst of the worst were going to meet there maker.

Down to my last 2 rounds and I spotted a not so willing participant for some flying lessons. This guy is one of our 13 lined ground squirrels we have here in the upper midwest. Most folks just call them gophers or stripers.
Shot was a lasered 178 yards and the little Vmax made him fly a couple feet but really opened up the winter for coat like a zipper.

And it feels great to have the new Savage officially Blooded.

Bet it felt really good to get out, after the sickness and being stuck in the house. And even though your forgot more ammo, it still beats sitting home. And just look a few flying lessons given. :D Bill K :)

It did feel good. This spring is just playing havoc on the senses. We had a late blizzard in the beginning of April and then a slow melt which really helped the overland flooding. Finally it warmed up to barely 70's a few days ago and just today most of North Dakota woke up to snow and rain. Luckily we just had rain down here in the south east part of the state. It's not looking like 60 until the end of this week with highs only in the 40s.
I wonder what or how much Silverfox got if anything.
The radar didnt look to promising this morning.

Welcome to the forum there, SecretCode. I'm sure there's a story to your screen name, right?

Looks like you had a good window to get out. We also had a late February snow dump, but it's all gone now and the rat and chucks are out in force here.

Just for fun, here's some rock chuck carnage from last week when I was able to get out, but no flu here luckily. This guy was smacked with my Cooper 221FB from 228 yards with a POA right under his nose. POI was.....right under his nose. This was some radical dental work!

The chuck on the left looked okay until I turned him over to see that his head was empty...just hide. Cranial evacuation.

Amazing what a little 40gr Varmageddon will do over only 20.0grs of A2200 for a measly 3,100 fps. Seems enough for this chuck. ;) Glad you were able to bloody that Savage. Now that you're here, know that we all love to see pics! Good to have you aboard.

Jeez Rick that chuck looks like a girl I wish I didnt know in college. :D
That guy must have been from your walk about I noticed over on AccutareShooter.

Nothing special on the screen name, just a nickname I had as a kid bestowed upon me by an older cousin.
