Sako 85 Stainless Varmint

Post by TEXAS222 »

Hello shooters. Does anyone have any experience or know anyone with the Sako 85 stainless varmint in 204 ruger with laminated stock and set trigger. I found a place that offered me a great deal for one & I want to buy me a nice 204 but can't find a lot of reviews on it. Thought about & looked at Coopers but I'm a Sako guy. I was hoping that someone could share their information on said rifle. Thanks for any comments you may have.

Jim, one of the 204's I field every season is a Sako M75 Varmint, Stainless, Laminated, fluted, set trigger. It's very, very similar to the Sako M85, and as such, it's been a great rat rifle. It will shoot any of the 32's into groups in the .2's, but I usually shoot the 39gr SBK in it, and some of the smallest groups I've shot have been with that rifle and bullet. I've shot it every season since getting it in 2006 direct from Beretta in an industry trade deal. It was the first one on the west coast at that time, and the ground squirrels here have been hating it ever since.

In the field doing what it does best:

If you like Sako's like I do, don't hesitate to snag that M85V.......I promise you won't regret it. :D

TEXAS JD, didjigitit, didjigitit???? I have two Coopers that I really like. I would, however, like to have something in a Sako someday.

I have one in .223 with an 8 twist. Love the set trigger! I have a Cooper M51 in .204 but the Sake will out shoot it!
