39gr. Bullets

Do most of you loading 39gr. SBK bullets use the printed 40 gr. recipes? I don't see any published recipes for these bullets and don't have a Sierra loading manual. BTW, while were at it, what do you like for 35gr Bergers using Varget and 8208 XBR.

No problem working up loads for the 39's via the 40's charts. You have to find the load that works best in your rifle regardless. Bill K :)

Exactly and don't be disappointed if your velocity is less than advertised. Accuracy is what counts. HTH

Thats exactly how I came up with my load for the 39's. I did have to play with seating depth tho to find the really sweet spot for my rifle. I do load long, and cannot use my magazine. This, however is not a problem for me, because I only single feed with all my varmint rigs. Just remember to start low and work your way up slowly. Best of luck with your endeavor.

I basically used the 40gr load data, but found the best-shooting load fell short enough of the 40gr's max. that it was of no concern. Trial and error. I also wanted 32gr. V-Max to be the best shooter in my 1:12" (makes sense...right?) but 4 powders, and 4 bullets later...it was the 39gr. SBKs and RL10x. Again, trial and error...and range time..and money. :)

Quite a while back I downloaded a pdf of loads from Sierra's website. No idea if it's still available but maybe worth a look.
