Love My CZ 527 Varmint 204!

I was at the range a couple of weeks ago with my CZ 527 Varmint 204 Ruger. I recently picked up some prairie dog and crow Shoot N See targets. I only had about 100 rounds down the pipe of this rifle at this point. It shoots more accurately every time I take it out now. I have owned many rifles, but this 204 is without a doubt the most accurate rifle I have ever owned! I set out a target backer at 200 yards with several "crows" & "prairie dogs" just to see what this rifle would do given the opportunity.



As you can see pretty much all of them are toast. I was feeling pretty confidant and told my buddy in the lane next to me, "See that crow at the bottom left of my target at the 200 yard line? I'm going to hit him in the eye." He's like, "Yea, right. Sure . Well, guess what? I used the set trigger and aimed dead on that crow's eye and let that factory Hornady 40gr V-Max fly. Both of us about fell over when we checked the target through our spotting scopes!! This CZ is the most accurate rifle I have ever shot, and I have been doing this for over 45 years. And this thing only has about 150 round down the pipe! WOW! Can't wait to see what it will do when it gets "broken in" and I dial in some reloads for it. If you are "on the fence" about getting a CZ 527 Varmint in 204 Ruger, I hope this helps.

I have a couple of threads saying the same thing about mine. I cannot believe EVERYONE that shoots does not get one. I love mine. I have had great shots with 26,32,35,39, and 40 bullets. Everything so far has been lights out!

I'll confess, of all of my 204's my CZ shoots everything I've fed it [up thru] 40-VMAX quite well.

I haven't had the chance to try too many other bullets other than 32gr, 40gr, V-Max, & 34gr Dog Town HP's so far. Haven't seen too much of a difference in any of them really. They are all insanely accurate. It's nice to be on this end of a rifle that isn't finicky. Lord knows I have been on the wrong end of too many that are. As more bullets become available again I will give them a try. Can't wait to get out hunting with this rifle.

My new CZ 527 Varmint 17 Hornet rifle is also a small group shooter using Hornady 20 Gr bullet factory ammo. What not to like about a company that makes accurate rifles ? I got three extra magazines so I have 20 rounds loaded before I drive into a prairie dog town. I ll also have a accurate Ruger VT 204 Ruger rifle with plenty of 39 Gr bullet reload ammo that will be used for longer shots. Anyone who like p dog shooting can t go wrong with a accurate 204 Ruger rifle.

I have the same Rifle.....mine really likes the 39 grain Sierra Blitz Kings.I've put down several Coyotes with it and the speed and accuracy is definetly something to brag about!

I would love to try the 39gr Blitzkings. Only problem is I haven't been able to find them anywhere online. Midway expects them to come in some time in July. Nothing on Gunbroker either.
