Which powder is producing the fastest velocity in the 204

Are you after speed or accuracy?

In my four 204's, both RL-10X and Benchmark give the best combination of accuracy vs. speed. Not much use having screaming speed if you can't hit anything with the load.

For me IMR 8201-XBR but I haven't really throughly tested it for accuracy. My current 204's like RE-15 as the best accuracy/speed combo, closley followed by H4895. Varget was so-so. Benchmark & RE-10x were also good but I have copious quanties of RE-15.

Thanks for the info I definitely want a accurate load but I want all the speed I can get out of it my 204 like rl15 also don't have a Chronograph yet so ain't sure what the speed is. What about cfe223 anybody know much about it

BLC(2) is pretty fast and really accurate in my .204. Shot a .169 group with it and 32 gr. Nosler Varmageddon bullet.

If you take the time to do a quick search, you'll find lots of info on CFE223, but you have to LOOK.

There's been at least 9 or 10 posts on this powder question. Most of these subjects have been covered in great detail regarding certain powder/bullet combo's, but you have to take the time to do a search to find what you're after.

A good place to start is right on the top of the main page... 204 R loads.. Then go into other load data sites and start purusing. Lots of information, if you take time to check them out. Bill K
