My new M21 is on the way. I plan to use Talley Lightweight one piece mounts and a 50mm scope. Does anyone know if low rings will work or do I need mediums?
Thanks

Re: Cooper scope mounts
I recently mounted a 50mm Minox on my M21 .204 Varminter. Did have mediums supporting a 44mm side-focus Nikon and it was just enough. No way will the Talley Lightweights in a medium .500 height give enough clearance with a 50mm i.d. scope bell (in 1" dia. tube) as the math doesn't work; on a 30mm tube they might, but it could rub. In fact, after much measuring I wasn't even comfortable going with high Talley LWs, so went to a Warne Weaver-style base for another 1/8" and (for now) a set of high $17 Leopold Rifleman silver rings I had sitting around; the setup actually works/looks better than it sounds.

Re: Cooper scope mounts
I really like my Talley one piece mount-rings. I used the high rings for my Zeiss conquest 50mm.
