I cant believe a few points of a grain make such a massive difference to group sizes! . As my standard load was 32vmax in front of 27.8grains of benchmark for 4080 fps. (top middle target). I decided to drop a few points of a grain to 27.2. When I was shooting this group ( bottom middle target) I was search through my scope for the second and third shot. Were is it?. On walking down range, I could,nt believe it!! four shots almost through the same hole. measured .200 The inside target ring is a inch. Taken a long time but looks like I've found my new load!
Should probably leave things alone, But mite try try adding another .2 of a grain 27.4 or even 27.6 to see were groups start to open up again. Would like to be as fast and accurate as I can. Can,t wait to get her out in the field for some head shots!. Sure gives you a lot more confides in your rifle-handloads when they come together to shoot to the best of it ability.
If you feel inclined to tinker, I would suggest maximum increments of 2/10th grain in the little 204R. Safer and you would not want to miss an accuracy node.
Yes thats what I mean .2 of a grain. I have found that I have to set my Lyman power measure a wee bit low and top up with the trickler as it measurements are just not that accurate. thanks
