Project barrel life

Post by Griffy »

Currently, shooting a Savage M25 and Cooper M21. I am using 39 gr Sierra BK at around 3600 fps with Benchmark powder. I am also using the Lucas bore guides with Butches Bore shine for cleaning. I am using the Cooper for PD shooting. I don't expect to rebarrel the Savage.

Just curious as to what the expected fired round count one could expect from the barrel?
Thanks

No two barrels are alike, especially factory barrels, especially savage factory barrels :D

Your shooting a very mild load. That helps.
If it was an average Savage stainless tube I'd quess you should go 4000 with that load.
I've only had one CM Sav tube. I considered it shot out from the factory. Hope yours is better.
