Nice shooting. Just out of curiosity why would you take the amazing factory single set trigger out and put a rifle basix in?

Just personal preference. Nothing wrong with the factory trigger except I did not like it. Some guys like redheads. I like blondes.

Now for the next ? why 50 yrds. Most internet post with a pic like yours say its a 300 yrd group.

The factory trigger in the set position has EXTREME overtravel. When I put my pull guage on the factory trigger in the un set position I found it to vary as much as 2 to 8 oz's. I think the quality of the 527 trigger has been some what over hyped and I'm probably guilty of doing some of that. I also have the Rifle Basix trigger. Much better!

I live on a farm in rural Georgia. The reason for 50 yard shots is because I can do this in my back yard. Any longer shots are up hill or down hill. Heavy trees beyond 200 yards. Ballistics I read say 50 yard zero makes .8 high at 100 and .8 high at 150 and back to zero at 200. I hope to go to a range and do some long distance shots but for now I want to play in my back yard. I used to tote a .22Mag around the farm, but after reading about the .204 there was no turning back. This rifle should make a fine gun for the possible issues on the farm...coyotes, beaver, turtles, crows, bobcat, coons, possum. I would love to go pdog hunting but money will not allow that. So I just shoot in my back yard and try to get the most out of the gun at 50 yards, for now. Any thoughts on what to do better would be appreciated. I like the Rifle Basix trigger. It pulls clean and crisp at 2.14. I don't like the extra motions involved with the single set trigger. It is okay on the bench but akward when walking around.
