magazines for .204 AR-15?

Hi, all –

I'm in the process of building up an AR-15 in .204 for bench shooting. I could use some recommendations for magazines that work well with the .204. Any ideas? Thanks.

Any standard model mag. will work. The p-mags won't feed properly in my 204 AR.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you answered; I was in fact thinking of the Pmags. Maybe I'll go with RRA instead.

I've found the best feeding magazines in my .204 are the straight 20rd stainless steel mags from C Products with their anti-tilt follower and CS springs. I would have used 5 or 10rd mags most of the time, but these 20's have fed the best, so that's what I usually use. I do have a 10rd set up with a single shot follower I use quite a bit also.

Hmm...20 rounders, eh? I neglected to mention that this will be for a pure bench gun. Do you have any trouble getting your 20-round magazines out without having to move the gun?

Pretty sure I can have the pistol grip nearly touching the bench and still drop the 20rd magazine. I can check on it for ya.

I have had the best reliability with a 10rd colt mag with the new grey, angular, anti-tilt follower. I also use an off brand carbon plain sided 5 round mag for hunting that works great. Hope this helps!

I was running 20-round mags out of my AR on a prairie dog shoot last month and had to lift the butt of my rifle off of the rear sandbag when removing and installing magazines.
