Lothar walther 204

Post by spacewelder »

Does anyone have experience with Lothar Walther? I am just wondering as I am thinking about one in 204. It will be sitting on an AR platform. This will be my third 204 project and just wanted to know before I spend all the cash.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh ya I love this site. I can not believe they have one for 204 only! If there is allready a post about this please let me know as I am new .

This is a 26" fluted 1-12 lothar walther .I only use factory ammo so far and had it out last week at 400 yards and got a 21mm 5 shot group .The bore is very easy to clean .Im happy with my Lother Walther .

From what I know, Lothar Walther is very high quality. Their website states that their barrels are button rifled.

As indicated above by the extraordinary group, the proof is in the pudding. If you can get that kind of groups with factory ammo, you are definitely doing it right, in my book!!

I had my gun smith recut the chamber to match the federal 39gr factory ammo and worked really well ,as you can see.On the standard chamber it was only grouping 25mm at 300 yards .The longest paper shooting to date was the weekend at 450yards and got some groups of 25mm.Lothar Walther are a great barrel ,but from ive seen only as good as the guy building the rifle .
