Assuming the barrel is threaded into the receiver, yes. I haven't seen one of the M25s out of the stock, so I don't know if the barrel is threaded into the receiver or not. It's definitely NOT as easy as changing out a barrel on a 10/110 series, but it should be changeable like a Remington, IF it's threaded.

If the barrel is sweated into the receiver and pinned, like some rimfires are, it might be harder yet to rebarrel.

I believe it's threaded and then pinned. A new barrel could be screwed into place and headspaced with go nogo or use a resized case, but the pinning process may take the sevices of a gunsmith.

You'd be better off trading your 25 for a different Savage.
Savage did not make it easy to rebarrel the 25 for one reason. The action on the 25 is to weak to handle all the possibilities.

Off the top of my head. Model 10,12,14,16 (short actions and they're equivalent long actions can all be easily rebarreled by the owner.
When you get right down to it any modern centerfire Savage or Stevens bolt action can be rebarreled at home. Just not the 25.

FYI.....The Savage M25 barrel "is installed within the receiver by Savage's unique hand-swaging method, which establishes very close headspace to aid in accuracy" from the sept/oct 2008 RifleShooter page 69. Looks like its not threaded.

Thats what I thought we'll see how long it lasts. for $430.00 guess it is a disposable gun but that thing sure shoots good .3 MOA
