Our very own Rick in Oregon has................

Post by glenn asher »

written a very good article on the .204 in the new Varmint Hunter Magazine  . I got my copy yesterday, and took it to work today, as I didn't have time to read it last night. I was pleasantly surprised to see Rick's article on page 166. If you haven't gotten your magazine yet, put it on your list......... And if you're not a member of the VHA, you oughta be, the magazine beats anything on the racks at the bookstore, for the pictures alone, if nothing else. Member articles beat most stuff from the pros, too.

It sure helped me get thru a dreary hot sultry day in the sweat shop, it made lunch about halfway fun  Thanks, Rick :! :!: :!: :!: :!:

I don't believe you can find the magazine at your local bookstore. Just follow this link and join the Varmint Hunters Association and you will get the magazine in the mail.

http://www.varminthunter.org/

As noted by others, it is well worth the price to join and get the magazine every quarter. There are a lot of great articles in every issue; more so than most all the rags you see on the newstand these days.

glenn--Thanks for the heads up on the article by RIO. I received my magazine a couple days ago and my wife, bless her little pea pickin' heart, had filed the magazine in the magazine rack instead of leaving it on the kitchen table where I left it!! I just read the article now and Rick, you did a GREAT job. I hope you keep writing more articles. You certainly have the talent to do so!!

Ah shucks you guys, yer makin' me blush. Thanks for the positive remarks though, it brightens my day a bit while I'm in the mending process and not able to get out myself.

In truth, it's just sort of fun to write about something you really love. Accurate varmint rifles, handloading, and the thrill of launching a rat way out there farther than you can see him with the naked eye has always made me smile. Add in good friends, some sunshine and great scenery, and it's utopia right here on Mother Earth....at least to guys like us, right? ;)

Thanks my friends, glad you approve. :D

Hawkeye: (Mike)....sorry bud, can't post it here; much too long, and it can't be published on the net because of the VHM copyright laws. You need to subscribe to VHM anyway, being the sort of rifle nut you are....

Ray: The magazine you receive will be the July/Summer issue, so it'll be the one with my 204 piece. There's at least one other article that features material on the 204 also in this issue.

J.R. Carter has a coyote hunting article in this issue of TVHM as well, he's a friend of mine from down Somerset way, here in Kentucky, and he posts a lot on the GGVG Message Board, too. I've met him at the BBB shoots down there. All in all, this is a top notch issue, and worth the membership fees for the whole year.......

I enjoyed your article Rick, well done. It is my favorite magazine as well. Articles written by people that actually know what they are talking about from experience, not some writer trying to keep the sponsors happy with limited use of the item or topic.
