When you start hand loading, try the 40 gr Bergers. They seem to be the exception to the rule in terms of accuracy. My XR-100 loved them. Now my son owns that rifle and he still uses them with the same success.

what about the 45 gn hornady soft points? apparently they are still shorter than the 40 v-max. and anyone try the barnes varmint grenade? at 26 gn they've gotta move!

I have tried the 45gr Hornady SP, although not extensively, only about 4 or 5 shots. They have shot quite well. I do plan on experimenting with them more and will post results/pics when I get to it.
