At that price, I'd risk trouble at home and snag it before someone else does! That puppy won't last long!

Rick is correct! Snag it before someone else notices what a deal it is. You can always get another wife, good deals on rifles don't come along everyday. Gary

Okay first go get the rifle before you lose your mind, my boy has a howa heavy barrel .204, shoots unbelievable! it's as good as my custom .204!

now when you bring it home keep it out of sight in your vehicle until the wife takes a shower or otherwise is unavailable, then sneek it into the house and put it with your other guns! now this is the tough part! wait a week or so and then you can bring it out! wife asks "is that a new gun?" your truthful answer is "no honey I've had this awhile"

my wife really doesn't know one gun from the next, and apparently can't count firearms, so this is how guns are brought into my house!

crazy: That method has worked for me very well over the years too. Great minds DO think alike, eh?

I don't think the female mind is programmed to either identify firearms, or have the neurological basis for quantification of them either. (And that's a good thing!!) ;)

:hand: Try pulling a rifle out of my safe & ask the wife what it is from 30 feet away sometime. She knows em as well as she shoots em.

Now on the other hand,, my favorite method of buying a new rig is to go to my local shop & pick out what I want. Then I fill out the paper work for the 6 months same as cash deal. 20 minutes later I'm filling out the FFL form & within a few minutes of finishing that I'm headed home with a new rig & I have 6 months to pay for it. A lot of folks don't like this way but it sure beats the bejeebies outta wanting & not having for me. I've even ordered a scope & rings/bases & added it to the original loan amount when I bought my Ruger MKII.

Sure HTH somebody!!

BTW-- If you allow your wife/GF to read this post I'll have to,,, well you know,, take your side on this!!!!

BELIEVE ME - WOMEN KNOW MORE THAN WE THINK!!!!!!!! Have you ever noticed that women's shoes are taking over more of your closet space (120 pair by my last count)? Or the outfit she is wearing that you never had seen before? Or that the number of bags of "old" clothes going to Goodwill always seem to increase shortly after you have just received that new gun? My advice is "don't ask - don't tell".

How many times have you asked you wife about a new dress or new pair of shoes just to have her say "This, I've had this for a while"??? Since when is one day, a while??? Have you ever noticed the price of a womans handbag????????? Outrageous, get two rifles just to be safe.

Here's an idea. Act like your going to the range for a day and get everything loaded. Then take two rifle cases and put a gun in one of them and leave the other one empty. Ask the wife to pack one of them and give her the one with the gun in it. Go get your new gun and stick it in the empty case and bring it home. Then you can leave it a week in the safe or do the 6 month deal, and your good to go.
