My two primary PD rifles are both Holland custom rigs in 223 Ackley and 243 Ackley, both wear Jewell triggers set at 9 ozs, both are pure bench rifles, and not for field carry.
My Sako M75V in .204 Ruger is equipped with their excellent set trigger, also set at 9 ozs...again, not for field carry or coyotes. My field rifles/coyote rifles are usually set somewhere between 1.5 lbs and 2.5 lbs, depending on actual intended use.
All my PD and ground squirrel shooting is from a bench, so those rifles are set up for what I refer to as "Bench Rest Varmint Shooting", hence the light triggers. Pure BR rifles are usually set up at 2 ozs, but I consider that too light even for bench varmint work.

I really only shoot two rifles anymore if you don’t count my air rifle which has a 6oz. pull. My Sako Varmint like Rick’s has the set trigger. It was set from the factory at 7oz. on my scale. The single stage breaks at about 1.5 lbs. My Finnfire has a Jewell on it and is set for between 3 and 4oz. All my big game rifles have 2 lb. trigger pulls. What you are used to has a lot to do with trigger pull. After shooting IPSC for years with triggers set to one pound anything more than that feels heavy. My 75 set trigger at 7 oz. feels horrible compared to my Jewell on the .22. I shoot mostly off a bench or bags for squirrels. I shoot my 75 for coyotes and if the situation presents itself I do set the trigger. Two pounds is as light as I would want to go on a big game rifle. I have usually been almost frozen to death when elk or deer hunting and the hands just don’t work as well when numb.
I set my varmint and big game rifles trigger pull at 2 3/4 to 3 pounds. I have a few cheep 22 rimfires that are around five pounds that I have not worked on. When shooting off of a bench rest with sand bag rests front and rear I get horizontal groups when the trigger pull is over three pounds.
Varmint triggers all break at one pound. Deer rifles are set at two pounds. The first thing I do with a new Remmy trigger is ship it to Neil Jones C.P. Excellent trigger work.
