my first 204

hey guys, I'm new on here. I just got my first 204 last week. I bought a remington model 700 SPS varmint (26" heavy barrel) I put a leupold VXII 4.5-14X40 on top of it. I am currently looking for a short action HS Precision stock and then I'll be done. i have always been a 22-250 man, but got a 204 in hopes that it won't ruin my bobcats like the 250 does.

try 39 sierra,aa2015 25.4 cci br works great in my cooper also try a 32 v-max same powder weight

Welcome to the forum! I think that you are going to love your .204! You will get to see the whole show thru your scope and they shoot laser flat. Don't forget to post pictures of your adventures, we love pics around here! Gary

My Wife just bought that same rifle for me. Just need a scope now, its driving me nuts. I cant wait to shoot it

mine shoots the 32 grain factory loaded Hornady ammo great. I am just dying to get a new HS Precision stock for this rifle. It shoots good with the stock that's on it, but I want the HS stock anyway.

I have the SPS with the regular barrel. I have had a terrible time sighting in but I think it's because of my scope, but I would be very interested in hearing how yours shoots and what grain you find to be the best. Right now I am shooting 40 grain Hornadys. Going to try Winchester silvertips (32gr) next. Can't wait to get it totally dialed in (to see if they shoot like all these guys on the site say they do) and see if it can kill a dog at 350 yards!

mine shoots the factory Hornady 32gr V Max ammo good. The only problem I've have is the listed velocity on the box, and what I'm getting through my chronograph is 200 fps difference. These bullets through my gun are 200 fps slower than the box says.
