howls or distress

Post by sodwyer »

Been callen coyotes for 4 years now with good sucsess. I mainly use destress calls but find myself useing more and more howls. It seems that there are times when I have used steady destress with no luck and then throw in an interigation howl sometimes I hear them and sometimes they even show up. I would like to lern more about typs of howls and when to apply them.

When I howl, I make sure to use a non-dominant howl. Sometimes I will start out with a nice lil howl and wait a few seconds and goto distress. Then if nothing comes in within 15 minutes, I usually change the sound or throw a couple more howls in there and maybe even a pup distress. It, for me, depends on teh situation.
