9-6-10 Coyote

Post by Song Dog »

Good friend (Matt Hampton)called and wanted to know if I wanted to go call'n. Well, found some time and we went yesterday afternoon. We sat in a small draw and had the wind from left to right and decoy out in front of us and further up wind to hopefully put them in front of us. Coyote came downwind and heading away from us but was keyed up on the decoy. We both saw her coming in but it was quick and no shot. I told Matt hang tight, it could be behind the trees and looking at decoy. It wasn't a few minutes and the coyote kept heading that direction and came up out of the creek and on a string right at me focusing on the decoy that is to our left and away from us. When the coyote made its 1st stop, BANG and it went down. It was the 1st blood with the Savage Predator Max1. The 39 BK made a pretty good opening, that you don't see

WTG!!! Nice, glad you're whackin them. I'm gearing up for a big season this year. I've been making sure my .204, 22-250, and 243 are all set and ready.
It's hard to detect good luck, It looks so much like something you've worked hard for and earned.

Yep, it wasn't in the greatest of shape. It took about 10-15 minutes. We started off with the Hi-Jacker as a pup distress and then to the foxpro DSG sound. It was good to finally get out. The beginning of the year wasnt so great but hopefully the end of the year will go with a bang :D

Jason,

A big "alright" on the coyote. I am seeing more and more corn fields getting picked so that means it's time to start coyote hunting. Fall approaching is more exciting than Christmas to me!
Enjoy it while you have it, because things will change.

Good job! I've been skunked that last couple of times I went out. The weather is great here right now so I plan on making a few more outings.
