Lil' Frustrated

I sure get a kick out of Gubes posts that he sniped a coyote at his meatsickle from the house. I have been so very eagle eyed to snipe one from my house to.
Today was the day. I spotted him towards the back of the house in the field about 175 +/- yds. He went behind the field tile berm and grabbed a call and snuck out on the deck. I called and got him to take a look. What should have been an EASY shot, my bullet placement stunk. Off he goes after the hit and I could see blood. I go back in the house and wait a bit and decided to take off on the four wheeler. It was a piece of cake to track him, just look for blood. I rode the 4wheeler until I needed to walk. I followed him through a drainage ditch and back up the other side. Then back down he goes, down in the area that a bunch of timber was pushed in :( . I then start using my flashlight to look down in there and guess who's there, yep the coyote and I can't get to him :wall: .

Bad luck Song Dog.

I suffer from the same problem, I get all excited and yank the trigger.

Here's hoping you get some porch shooting success soon.

Hey Song dog, congrats on smackin that dog from your deck. It sure is great being able to do that from the confines of your own home.
I know a fella about 1 1/2 hours west of me that does the same thing, but his "meatsickle" is about 100 yds from the house and he has taken quite a few wolves this way. I'm a tad jealous cuz we don't have any wolves where I am.

  Your right I could have missed completely.

Gube, I would drag a meatsickle from his place and let the wolves trail it :D

It happens Jason. If one hunts very much, it's bound to happen sometime.

I was wondering, why didn't you crawl down in there with that injured coyote and drag him out? heh, heh.

He was done. So, I did think about attempting to pull him out. Then I thought if my cartilage in my knee locks up down there, it would be horrible trying to get out. I really don't think I could have gotten him out. I was looking for every way to, though.
I did that once before but took a pistol in with me. I just about filled my britches, when that coyote moved  he ended up get a few more rounds, THEN I got him out. That was about a couple years ago.
