Finely got one with my Rem. LVSF

I haven't had any luck lately hunting at night so I decided to go out during the day time. I drove around looking for area's that might look promising. I decided to go down into the willows of a wash. I should have taken a shot gun but I rather like using a rifle so I took the Remington LVSF that I have yet to bag one with yet. It was 10:30 in the morning and I decided to go light I walked in with only the rifle and a mouth call no shooting sticks no stool. I parked and only walked about 20 paces and found a old road through the wash that dead ended where I was at so I kneeled down one knee and postioned the rife with my elbow on one knee and started calling looking down the road. I had the rifle to my shoulder all the time with the safety off looking just over the scope ready to go. After about 10 minutes this large male stepped out in to the clearing about 30 paces in front of me I shot him high in the back breaking his spine with a 34gr hp dogtown bullet. When he lifted his head I new what I had done so I sent another shot to his head to finish him. Thus the bulging eye. He was a large male that I could not lift with one hand. ImageImageImageImage

Wow! Nice shootin and thanks for the pics! It looks like the Dogtown bullets do just fine. No messy exit from the looks of it?

NICE JOB! I am kinda curious what the 34s did. I have quit a few and have yet really worked with them in a load. I have debated trying them with coyotes but haven't had a chance.

That's a nice looking coyote Ryan!! Those nice pics top off the good story nicely.

BTW-- Your snow looks a little funny. Here in Ohio it's much whiter than yours.

The 34gr. dogtown is a tough little bullet. It broke the spine and exited but did not leave a large exit wound same with the shot to the skull the bullet went in just above the right eye and exited with hardly a wound noticable. The 32gr Vmax wound not have exited in most cases. If you want to bust bone the 34gr dog town is fine for your money it can't be beat for squirrels I would prefer tImagehe Vmax as it would destroy its self.

Neat stuff. That bulgy eyeball makes that yote looks like something out of a cartoon character.

Any of you wishing to witness the effectiveness of the .204 on small game put a varmint simulator (20 oz soda bottle filed with water) out at your favorite range distance and hammer it. That should convince you of it's performance.

It does me. You can add a half dozen drops of red food coloring to the mix for effect if you wish.

Ps: A solid hit will require you to wait four to seven seconds for the target to return to earth!

Song Dog my COL was 2.180 The only reason I use the dog town bullets is I got a deal on them $38 dollars for 500 I bought 1500 hundred of them. They are a little hard for squirrels but work fine on coyote. I like the 32gr Vmax much better they don't seem to exit. I do like having a bullet that is a little tougher though in my bag of trix. Good luck with your hunting.
